Sustain

Sustain

According to Webster’s, “sustain” means; a: of, relating to, or being a method of harvesting or using a resource so that the resource is not depleted or permanently damaged; b: of or relating to a lifestyle involving the use of sustainable methods.

Both apply to Even Keel’s use of sustainable fabrics.

All of Even Keel’s products are made out of fabric that is 70% bamboo, 25% organic cotton, and 5% Spandex. (No matter how green you are, you want a little bit of Spandex in there, trust me.) Not only are bamboo and organic cotton fabrics super soft, but they naturally resist odor unlike synthetic fabrics.

About Bamboo:

Bamboo fabric is quite popular these days for several reasons...

  • Made from the pulp of bamboo grass which is one of the world’s fastest-growing plants and therefore plentiful
  • 100% biodegradeable
  • Soft, lightweight, breathable
  • Natural anti-bacterial qualities that help prevent odor
  • Unique insulating properties that help keep the body cooler in summer and warmer in winter
  • Like the plant from which it comes, bamboo fabric is highly absorbent with exceptional wicking ability, essentially pulling moisture away from the skin where it can evaporate more easily.

About Organic Cotton

  • No toxins or synthetic fertilizers are used to grow organic cotton
  • It is produced without harsh chemical bleaches or dyes
  • Organic production systems are easier on the land, replenishing and maintaining soil fertility, reducing the use of pesticides and fertilizers, and building biologically diverse agriculture
  • Pesticides deplete the soil, pollute watersheds and can be transferred to the skin from cotton garments
